Q I've heard that hydrogenated oils are bad for you. What foods should I avoid?

A Your sources are absolutely right...hydrogenated oils are very unhealthy for you! They are also known as Trans Fatty Acids. More food labels are providing information on how much Trans Fatty Acids are in the product, thanks to a new law passed in 2006 that requires it to be listed on the Nutrition Facts label.

Trans Fatty Acids are mainly found in processed foods, because they help prolong the product’s shelf life. They are also a side effect of deep fat frying at most fast food restaurants (chicken, fries, cheese sticks). Here are some tips to help you reduce the number of Trans Fatty Acids in your diet:
