making that dream a Reality

Hey! I'm sixteen years old as of September 4th. I'm 5'4'' and curently weigh about 132 pounds. I'm an American, eh, but as of November I will have lived up here in Canada for a year. I've lived in eight states. I'm a very shy but friendly person, and once I get to know someone it's all good.

I love music. I've played flute in band for four years, I'm learning guitar, I've played pennywhistle for two years, and I can play a few simple tunes on piano.

I like writing as ...

I like writing as well. I participated in NaNoWriMo last year and won! I also participated in Script Frenzy and won. Both drafts suck but hey at least I tried right?

I have three cats and a dog, and two younger sibs.

I've been overweight most of my life. Most people think I look about fifteen, twenty pounds less than I am, but I'm still technically overweight. I think part of this might be because I have an overweight family, and have been taught that cleaning a plate and having secods is good, even if you're full. But I am not blaming my family! This is my problem and I will change it! Wow that was long...I don't normally talk very much, but those are some things I think people should know about me. :)

Anyway, I'm hoping to be new person by the end of this year!

:) You're welcome!
lol i love the grazing thing, too!

i don't really have any advice for you because although i have similar problems, i've been cooking dinner for a while and it's usually taking into account who wants to eat what as we don't usually sit down and eat dinner together...
but i do have two rule that have been helping me control the snacking a little
firstly: don't eat more than one serving of anything.. so if you have a plateful (serving size is upto you) of something in the morning, you are not allowed to eat that same thing again in the day, regardless of how healthy it is or how low in calories... this applies to snacks and meals. so if you're still hungry after a meal, you have to either find buy or make something yourself - the reason i have this rule is because it helps limit what i eat, makes me more realistic about figuring out what amount of food will fill me up and makes me use up (a few) more calories when i'm cooking or looking for food plus when i look back at what i'v eaten in the day, it makes it seem like i've eaten a lot, so i feel like eating less later on.

or: pick one snack and that is the only snack you are allowed to eat all day - so it should either be something really filling (i made a spanish omelette and had that for about 4 days) or something low in calories (like a fruit or right now, i'm going through a pack of bread sticks). so you are still giving yourself permission to snack a lot, but either you should get full enough to wait until dinner or you'll get so bored of whatever the snack is that you'll cut down on the calories you get from snacks...

i don't know if these rules will work for you, but it can't hurt to try so tell me what you think...

timbits sound soo cool! :D i don't think you get them here :( we do get yumyums though!

okay i wrote a lot! sorry...
take care and good luck!

lol i worry too much too - but mostly when my train of thought goes into overdrive about things that are completely farfetched - it entertains other people but gets me really concerned lol
but u'll be fine because you are determined - and that's the most important thing when it comes to weightloss! - well that and not bingeing anyways!
which reminds me, did you decide on a low calorie snack?

mines is still going really slow - i just wish i had more time on the computer but as it's really my big sisters... i always gets kicked off whenever i'm writing it - somehow "but it's nanowrimo month!" doesn't make a convincing enough argument with her lol

o :( damn, now i wanna know how much i burn per minute .... i'm guessing that the reason there's a difference between how many calories it says u should burn and how man u actually do, is because they based their number on a fatter person - because the larger you are the more calories you burn..

no lol im just making myself paranoid trying to figure out why your sparkpage seemed different lol...

yay! i taught u a new abbreviation!
take care and good luck :D

I'm nervous to start strength training. :o What sort of training did you do before? (Any exercise plans or videos you can recommend, lol?)

Ahh.. I had Veteran's Day off too. I'm sick now though, so I'm, not in school today. I completely lost my voice. Egh. My least favorite part of winter is the colds. xD
