I can only imagine how many people type "I will do this" and quit the next day, or how many people write "I will do this" and know they won't. I am making no promises. I am not saying I will do this this time, or I will never fail, or I will succeed in every task I attempt, but I will try, and I will try hard. That is all I can offer, but that is plenty in my eyes.
Lately I have been giving myself excuses, telling myself "you work hard, its okay if you haven't [insert complaint here]." But I realize now I can do just as much as I set myself out for, even if that means beating Barack Obama in a basketball game (okay that is not my wish, but if I DID set out for it, I am confident enough to believe I could do it! xP).
I have decided with my strength and no one telling me what I can or cannot conquer, I will do all I want to do. Yes, this may sound corny, and yes, it will be tough. Now that those questions are answered, here are my goals for my life. Many of them are not weight related and I may add or take away from this list, but I feel obligated to share it.
(in no particular order)
1. Maintain a healthy diet and exercise routine for the rest of my life, but still enjoy new foods and fun food-related experiences sometimes. (In other words, not become one of those people that change the thing they ordered so much its just leaves on a plate.)
2. Travel. I would love to travel around someday. See Russia, Costa Rica, Japan, Australia, et cetera.
3. Raise a Family. I have always wanted a big family. Not now, god no, not now. haha. But one day, I'd love to have 5 or 6 kids roaming around or 10 to 20 grandkids. Oh boy, I'm going to have a busy life!
4. Follow God in all I do, say or act. Be a spiritual and loving person.
5. Go to college, and excel. Use my talents, and not just waste them aside. Find time for myself in my life, too. Not be afraid to give myself a good life too, without taking that too far.
Okay, now that I'm done telling you guys my main long-term goals, let me go into my actual plan for this month.
I have to admit I'm stealing this idea from TRISHNESS, hope you don't mind. Just like Trisha, to stay on track I am going to set some goals for each week of this month. If I follow every set of goals--all month, I reward myself with a day of total self-pampering and relaxation. But that is IF and only if, I keep every one of my goals. Now thats something to work towards!
Goals:
Week #1: 8 glasses of water a day and a total of 6o minutes or more of exercise.
Week #2: Week 1's goals AND find healthy options for nearly everywhere we could ever think of eating. Sounds like a simple goal, but it will be tough.
Week #3: Weeks 1 & 2's goals and eat healthy and not give in to cravings. Hopefully stay in the 1300 calorie range.
Week #4: Weeks 1, 2, & 3's goals and research some sort of sport to join, plus find recipes for healthy at-home dinners to be made my me at least once a week.
So these are my November goals, sorry this blog is so long, thanks to anyone who takes the time to read it, love you all!
Best Wishes, Love, and Faith!
Shelby
Feel free to read my blogs, seeing as how I don't have an audience at the moment (or at least, I don't THINK I do...)
