Message From SparkTeens Founder and CEO

Why SparkTeens Was Started

-- By Chris Downie
Hello everyone and thanks for visiting SparkTeens!

I want to share a little about the history of this company so you know why I’m so excited about teens reaching their individual goals and making a big impact on the world.

As a teen myself, I had anxiety that really limited many of the things I did. Over time, I developed a personal improvement program that combines areas that help your body like fitness and nutrition with areas that help your mind like goal setting, leadership, and stress management. This program changed my life in so many ways.

One thing I did was start an organization that helped teens and college students with leadership skills and health. But, I also started an internet company with a friend that became eBay’s first acquisition.

After our company was acquired by eBay, I set a goal to start another company that would SPARK millions of PEOPLE to reach their goals. For many years, we have focused on adults with our main site at SparkPeople.com. But, now with the launch of SparkTeens.com, we are getting back to my original vision for the company.

I strongly believe that by following the SparkTeens program, teens will take charge of their life and reach more goals than they ever thought possible. Then, working together, teens could make a huge impact on the world. In every company I’ve been a part of, we have always believed that young people can do amazing things. This is why I’m so excited about our high school challenge.

I hope YOU are the next person to do something amazing as part of this adventure!

SparkCheers!
