THE POWER OF SIMPLE, EVERYDAY ACTIONS
You have great plans: "I'll go to the gym every night" or "I'll work at the community center every Saturday".

Suddenly, your kids get the flu. Or you have to work OT for three weeks on a project. When life gets nuts, what's the first thing to fall by the wayside? That's right, your great plans. While these are definitely good intentions, setting unrealistic - or very disruptive - goals usually ends in disappointment and guilt.

To make a major life change, you don't need to turn your present life upside down. If you try to, the real world always seems to get in the way. Without a solidly-built foundation, goals are quickly forgotten and you return to what you know: your previous routine.

Inconveniences are easily dropped in hectic times. Do you know what you keep? Your habits. So to have lasting, day-to-day impact, doesn't it make sense to create new habits instead?

We talk a lot about large ideas and grand visions of life. But much of the Fuel For Improvement System is based on easy, simple things you can fit into the framework of your existing day-to-day life. First, you create small habits, then build your foundation to the point where even big stuff becomes a habit.

So you'll always be pursuing your goals, even in the face of chaos. That's real fundamental change.
